This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.127

अथ सा पूर्वजनेत्री सुजाता नामेन पण्डितकुलीना ।
न्यग्रोधपादपमूले तिष्ठति मधुपायसं गृह्य ॥ १२७ ॥

atha sā pūrvajanetrī sujātā nāmena paṇḍitakulīnā |
nyagrodhapādapamūle tiṣṭhati madhupāyasaṃ gṛhya || 127 ||

Then she who had in previous births been his mother, Sujata by name, who was accomplished and well brought up, stood at the foot of a banyan-tree, bearing some sweet milk-rice. (127)
