This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.95

सुकुमारफुल्लगात्रं कमलदलनिभेहि पादरतनेहि ।
कथम् आक्रमसि वसुधां तृणकुशशरसंस्तृतविदुर्गां ॥ ९५ ॥

sukumāraphullagātraṃ kamaladalanibhehi pādaratanehi |
katham ākramasi vasudhāṃ tṛṇakuśaśarasaṃstṛtavidurgāṃ || 95 ||

“With limbs like delicate flowers, and feet sheer jewels the colour of the lotus leaf, how wilt thou walk over difficult ground tangled with kusha-grass and leaves? (95)
