This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.78

यानातो ओतरित्वान पदसा उपसंक्रमे ।
सारायणीं कथां कृत्वा एकमन्ते उपाविशि ॥ ७८ ॥

yānāto otaritvāna padasā upasaṃkrame |
sārāyaṇīṃ kathāṃ kṛtvā ekamante upāviśi || 78 ||

He alighted from his chariot, and went onwards on foot. The king approached the Bodhisattva alone, greeted him courteously, sat down opposite him and thus addressed him: (78)
