This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.59

सत्यानुपरिवर्तिन्या सर्वभूतात्मया गिरा ।
श्लक्ष्णया प्रियवादिन्या बभाषे स नृपात्मजः ॥ ५९ ॥

satyānuparivartinyā sarvabhūtātmayā girā |
ślakṣṇayā priyavādinyā babhāṣe sa nṛpātmajaḥ || 59 ||

He, the king’s son, the son of all that is, replied in words that were concerned with truth, but gentle, and affectionate in tone, (59)
