This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 51.36

यथोचितं लभ्यति अन्नपानं ।
क्षुधापिपासाय विनोदनार्थं ।
अयं च मे + + + काशिराजा ।
क्षिप्रं नाम मोचये बन्धनातो ॥ ३६ ॥

yathocitaṃ labhyati annapānaṃ |
kṣudhāpipāsāya vinodanārthaṃ |
ayaṃ ca me + + + kāśirājā |
kṣipraṃ nāma mocaye bandhanāto || 36 ||

I had such food and drink as was proper to dispel my hunger and thirst. And this king of Kashi soon set me free from my bonds. (36)
