This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 49.25

भवे दानि अहं पुत्र एकस्मिं पदे तव भवे ।
प्रतिभुको शीघ्रं ब्रूहि उपगतं मया सह ॥ २५ ॥

bhave dāni ahaṃ putra ekasmiṃ pade tava bhave |
pratibhuko śīghraṃ brūhi upagataṃ mayā saha || 25 ||

“I shall then, my son, I shall assure you on the one point. Speak quickly and acquaint me with what you have in mind.” (25)
