This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 49.6

जीविते वर्तमानस्मिं मरणं मा खु आगमे ।
संपत्तीषु रमियासु विपत्ति मा खु आगमे ॥ ६ ॥

jīvite vartamānasmiṃ maraṇaṃ mā khu āgame |
saṃpattīṣu ramiyāsu vipatti mā khu āgame || 6 ||

“Now I am in life; let death never come upon me. Now I am in joyous prosperity; let adversity never come upon me.” (6)
