This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 45.4

सुवर्णनागासुरयक्षराक्षसा त्रस्ता अभू यानि समुद्रमध्ये ।
यथा च मेघानि समाकुलानि निनादनिर्घोषं विनिश्चरन्ति ॥ ४ ॥

suvarṇanāgāsurayakṣarākṣasā trastā abhū yāni samudramadhye |
yathā ca meghāni samākulāni ninādanirghoṣaṃ viniścaranti || 4 ||

The Suvarna devas, Asuras, Yakshas and Rakshasas and all beings that dwelt in the sea were terrified, so that the heaped up waters gave forth a loud roar and shout. (4)
