This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 44.22

सचेत् ते भद्रे जानेया पिता सूची मया कृता ।
स्वयं व मे प्रवारेया प्रत्तं ते च पितु वरं ॥ २२ ॥

sacet te bhadre jāneyā pitā sūcī mayā kṛtā |
svayaṃ va me pravāreyā prattaṃ te ca pitu varaṃ || 22 ||

If, lady, your father knew that these needles were made by me, he would invite me to take you and all that is in your father’s house. (22)
