This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 44.12

येन सप्ताभिरंगा च द्विगुणप्लाशा च पादपाः ।
येन अशेशि न तेन व्रजेसि न तेन अशेसि ॥ १२ ॥

yena saptābhiraṃgā ca dviguṇaplāśā ca pādapāḥ |
yena aśeśi na tena vrajesi na tena aśesi || 12 ||

Where the meal and the gruel are, and the twin-leafed Judas trees. Go by the hand wherewith I eat, not by the hand wherewith I eat not. (12)
