This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 37.45

प्रभासयन्ती यशसा यशस्विनी मनोरमेशाहूयनां दिशां प्रति ।
पृच्छामि त्वां कांचनवेदिविग्रहे आचिक्ष मे त्वं कतमासि देवता ॥ ४५ ॥

prabhāsayantī yaśasā yaśasvinī manorameśāhūyanāṃ diśāṃ prati |
pṛcchāmi tvāṃ kāṃcanavedivigrahe ācikṣa me tvaṃ katamāsi devatā || 45 ||

“Thou that art radiant and splendid with glory as thou standest over against the pleasant north-east, with thy golden slender-waisted body, prithee tell me what goddess thou art.” (45)
