This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 37.18

यस्यैष प्रतिगृह्णाति अन्नं च पानं च कौशिक ।
पाणिस्वरं कुम्भथूनं मृदंगानां स्वराणि च ।
सुप्तं न प्रतिबोधेन्ति प्रतिबुद्धो च नन्दति ॥ १८ ॥

yasyaiṣa pratigṛhṇāti annaṃ ca pānaṃ ca kauśika |
pāṇisvaraṃ kumbhathūnaṃ mṛdaṃgānāṃ svarāṇi ca |
suptaṃ na pratibodhenti pratibuddho ca nandati || 18 ||

The tabour, the drum and sounds of tambourine wake up from sleep him whose food and drink Pancashikha receives, and when he awakes he rejoices. (18)
