This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 34.174

शुद्धोदनो निशाम्य वचनम् इदं हर्षकम्पितशरीरो ।
अब्रवीत् भणहि सुचपलं प्रविशन्तु निवेशनम् उदारं ॥ १७४ ॥

śuddhodano niśāmya vacanam idaṃ harṣakampitaśarīro |
abravīt bhaṇahi sucapalaṃ praviśantu niveśanam udāraṃ || 174 ||

When Shuddhodana heard these words his body thrilled with joy, and he replied, “To be sure, let them with all speed enter within this noble palace. (174)
