This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 31.5

पंचाश बुद्धसहस्राणि निर्वृता लोकनायका बुद्धा ।
येहि जिनो अकासि कालं प्रार्थयमानो भवनिरोधं ॥ ५ ॥

paṃcāśa buddhasahasrāṇi nirvṛtā lokanāyakā buddhā |
yehi jino akāsi kālaṃ prārthayamāno bhavanirodhaṃ || 5 ||

Fifty thousand Buddhas, guides of the world, passed away, and under them the Conqueror fulfilled his time in his quest to end existence. (5)
