This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 28.10

पैशुन्यं मृषावाद परेषु दारं प्राणातिपातं च तथैव मद्यं ।
एतं प्रहाय स्वर्गतिं गमिष्यथ ग्रामस्य मध्ये रक्षितो स्वस्त्ययनं तद् आहुः ॥ १० ॥

paiśunyaṃ mṛṣāvāda pareṣu dāraṃ prāṇātipātaṃ ca tathaiva madyaṃ |
etaṃ prahāya svargatiṃ gamiṣyatha grāmasya madhye rakṣito svastyayanaṃ tad āhuḥ || 10 ||
