This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 26.49

सचे कोचि-म्-अस्मिं लोकस्मिं सर्वा पि देवता सदा ।
पूजेय सर्वरतनैः नैवं से प्रतिकृतं सिया ॥ ४९ ॥

sace koci-m-asmiṃ lokasmiṃ sarvā pi devatā sadā |
pūjeya sarvaratanaiḥ naivaṃ se pratikṛtaṃ siyā || 49 ||

“If a man were to worship here on earth all the devas without ceasing and make them all the most costly offerings, he would not gain equal blessings. (49)
