This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 26.40

सो तं मार्गं वाभिज्ञाये दुःखप्रशमगामिनं ।
यस्य मार्गस्य प्रतिलाभा दुःखस्यान्तं करीयति ॥ ४० ॥

so taṃ mārgaṃ vābhijñāye duḥkhapraśamagāminaṃ |
yasya mārgasya pratilābhā duḥkhasyāntaṃ karīyati || 40 ||

“It was he who discovered the way that leads to the cessation of ill, and the winning of which makes an end of suffering. (40)
