This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 26.26

सत्वां दुःखितां दृष्ट्वान दुःखधर्मसमर्पितां ।
धर्मचक्रं प्रवर्तेसि आभां कासि अनुत्तरां ॥ २६ ॥

satvāṃ duḥkhitāṃ dṛṣṭvāna duḥkhadharmasamarpitāṃ |
dharmacakraṃ pravartesi ābhāṃ kāsi anuttarāṃ || 26 ||

“Seeing men in misery and consigned to states of wretchedness, he set rolling the wheel of dharma, and shed abroad an incomparable light. (26)
