This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 26.16

ब्रह्मा प्रसन्नमनसो पवनपथविशुद्धहृदयस्य ।
धारेसि चन्द्रसन्निभं छत्रं परवादिमथनस्य ॥ १६ ॥

brahmā prasannamanaso pavanapathaviśuddhahṛdayasya |
dhāresi candrasannibhaṃ chatraṃ paravādimathanasya || 16 ||

With devoted mind Brahma held up a sunshade like the moon for him whose heart is as clear as the path of the wind, for the crusher of his opponents. (16)
