This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 24.24

कोटीशतसहस्राणां संघो आसि महर्षिणो ।
तिष्ठमानो महावीरो तारेसि जनतां बहुं ॥ २४ ॥

koṭīśatasahasrāṇāṃ saṃgho āsi maharṣiṇo |
tiṣṭhamāno mahāvīro tāresi janatāṃ bahuṃ || 24 ||

The great seer had a brotherhood of a hundred thousand kotis, and while on earth the great hero led across a great multitude. (24)
