This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 24.7

यदा सुनन्दो चक्रवर्ती बुद्धधर्मम् उपागमि ।
तदा आहनि संबुद्धो धर्मभेरीं वरम् उत्तमां ॥ ७ ॥

yadā sunando cakravartī buddhadharmam upāgami |
tadā āhani saṃbuddho dharmabherīṃ varam uttamāṃ || 7 ||

When Sundara, the universal king, accepted Buddha and the dharma, the perfect Buddha beat the peerless drum of dharma. (7)
