This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 21.75

तान् अवच राजवृषभो स्वागतम् अनुरागतं वः सर्वेषां ।
प्रीतो ऽस्मि दर्शनेन प्रशमदमबलेन च भवतां ॥ ७५ ॥

tān avaca rājavṛṣabho svāgatam anurāgataṃ vaḥ sarveṣāṃ |
prīto 'smi darśanena praśamadamabalena ca bhavatāṃ || 75 ||

The valiant king addressed them, saying, “I bid you all a hearty welcome, for I am pleased with your appearance, your calm, your self-control and your strength. (75)
