This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 21.19

दक्षिणेन हि पार्श्वेन जायन्ते पुरुषोत्तमाः ।
सर्वे पुरुषशार्दूला भवन्त्य् अत्रविहारिणः ॥ १९ ॥

dakṣiṇena hi pārśvena jāyante puruṣottamāḥ |
sarve puruṣaśārdūlā bhavanty atravihāriṇaḥ || 19 ||

For the Supreme of Men are born from their mothers’ right side. It is here that all the valiant men abide [when in their mother’s body]. (19)
