This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 20.50

अथ राक्षसा विविधरूपधरा आणत्ता दिवि परितो चपलं ।
तिष्ठन्तु भो प्रवरशस्त्रधराः सर्वदिशा कुरुथ असंवरणा ॥ ५० ॥

atha rākṣasā vividharūpadharā āṇattā divi parito capalaṃ |
tiṣṭhantu bho pravaraśastradharāḥ sarvadiśā kurutha asaṃvaraṇā || 50 ||

Then the Rakshasas of various shapes were thus commanded: “Ye wielders of brave weapons, quickly take up positions in all quarters of the sky, and clear all its spaces of obstacles.” (50)
