This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 19.137

असंख्येया च जनता प्राप्तवान् प्रथमं फलं ।
पश्य सत्पुरुषा राजं मैत्रिया बलम् उत्तमं ॥ १३७ ॥

asaṃkhyeyā ca janatā prāptavān prathamaṃ phalaṃ |
paśya satpuruṣā rājaṃ maitriyā balam uttamaṃ || 137 ||

And countless other people won the first fruition. Behold, O worthy king, the incomparable power of love. (137)
