This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 19.134

तां दृष्टिं प्रतिनिःसृज्य राजा वचनम् अब्रवीत् ।
धर्मम् आख्याहि मां धीर यत्र दुःखं निरुध्यते ॥ १३४ ॥

tāṃ dṛṣṭiṃ pratiniḥsṛjya rājā vacanam abravīt |
dharmam ākhyāhi māṃ dhīra yatra duḥkhaṃ nirudhyate || 134 ||

The king renounced his belief and said, “O wise one, teach me the dharma whereby ill is suppressed.” (134)
