This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 19.104

यो ब्राह्मणं वा श्रमणं वा अन्यं वापि वनीयकं ।
आमन्त्रेत्वा न भोजयते तम् आहुः श्रेष्ठलक्षणं ॥ १०४ ॥

yo brāhmaṇaṃ vā śramaṇaṃ vā anyaṃ vāpi vanīyakaṃ |
āmantretvā na bhojayate tam āhuḥ śreṣṭhalakṣaṇaṃ || 104 ||

Namely that whosoever, after inviting a brahman, a recluse, or any other wayfarer, did not then give him food, bore an excellent character. (104)
