This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.66

सो वदति एथ पश्यथ सुव्यपदेशक्षेमं मम पुत्रं ।
मरुमनुजकीर्तियशसं लक्षणगुणपारमिप्राप्तं ॥ ६६ ॥

so vadati etha paśyatha suvyapadeśakṣemaṃ mama putraṃ |
marumanujakīrtiyaśasaṃ lakṣaṇaguṇapāramiprāptaṃ || 66 ||

The king replied, “Come, see my son whose fame is secure, who is renowned and glorious among devas and men, and bears the marks of excellence to perfection.” (66)
