This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.42

सा क्रीडार्थम् उपगता प्लाक्ष्णा शाखां भुजेभिः अवलम्ब्य ।
प्रविजृम्भिता सलीलं तस्य यशवतो जननकाले ॥ ४२ ॥

sā krīḍārtham upagatā plākṣṇā śākhāṃ bhujebhiḥ avalambya |
pravijṛmbhitā salīlaṃ tasya yaśavato jananakāle || 42 ||

Playfully she went up to a wavy-leafed fig-tree and hung with her arms to the branches, and gracefully stretched herself at the moment of giving birth to the Glorious One. (42)
