This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 17.9

तं अवच देवसंघो कृतांजलिपुटो वराभरणधारी ।
ऋध्यतु उत्तमपुद्गल प्रणिधि तव अहीनगुणपुण्या ॥ ९ ॥

taṃ avaca devasaṃgho kṛtāṃjalipuṭo varābharaṇadhārī |
ṛdhyatu uttamapudgala praṇidhi tava ahīnaguṇapuṇyā || 9 ||

And the jewel-bearing throng of devas, raising their joined hands in reverence, replied, “O supreme of men, whose merit of virtue is sublime, may thy aspiration prosper. (9)
