This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 14.7

मया तु जन्तुना त्यक्तः सोनाहारीकृतं शरः ।
जठरस्य भित्त्वा स्वदेहं भूयो भेत्स्यति मेदिनीं ॥ ७ ॥

mayā tu jantunā tyaktaḥ sonāhārīkṛtaṃ śaraḥ |
jaṭharasya bhittvā svadehaṃ bhūyo bhetsyati medinīṃ || 7 ||

“Woman though I am, I’ll shoot an arrow that will pierce fathara’s body, nay, go through it and pierce the ground where it lies food for dogs. (7)
