This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 12.42

सप्तरतनामयानि छत्राणि नरमरूणां अष्टशतं ।
धारेन्ति भूषणधरा चित्राभरणधारिणो पुरुषा ॥ ४२ ॥

saptaratanāmayāni chatrāṇi naramarūṇāṃ aṣṭaśataṃ |
dhārenti bhūṣaṇadharā citrābharaṇadhāriṇo puruṣā || 42 ||

Eight-hundred individual devas and men in magnificent attire and gay adornment held up sunshades sparkling with the seven precious stones. (42)
