This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 12.22

प्रासादसहस्राणि मह्यं नरनागा चतुरशीतिं ।
तानि समलंकृतानि सशिष्यसंघस्य अहं देमि ॥ २२ ॥

prāsādasahasrāṇi mahyaṃ naranāgā caturaśītiṃ |
tāni samalaṃkṛtāni saśiṣyasaṃghasya ahaṃ demi || 22 ||

“O thou elephant among men, I have eighty-four thousand palaces. These in all their splendour I give to thee and thy community of disciples.” (22)
