This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 11.44

विविधधनसंचयानां दाता गुरुषु गुरुगौरवोपेतो ।
तेन स गृहपतिरतनं प्रतिलभति प्रभूतधनकुशलं ॥ ४४ ॥

vividhadhanasaṃcayānāṃ dātā guruṣu gurugauravopeto |
tena sa gṛhapatiratanaṃ pratilabhati prabhūtadhanakuśalaṃ || 44 ||

Because he has given of his stores of wealth to venerable teachers out of respect for them, the king wins therefore the treasure of the wealthy householder. (44)
