This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 11.9

कर्मसंनिश्रिताः सन्तः कौतूहलविनिःश्रिताः ।
आपत्सु न विषीदन्ति न च मोदन्ति वृद्धिषु ॥ ९ ॥

karmasaṃniśritāḥ santaḥ kautūhalaviniḥśritāḥ |
āpatsu na viṣīdanti na ca modanti vṛddhiṣu || 9 ||

“Wholly concerned with karma and detached from all excitement, they are not cast down by adversity nor elated by prosperity. (9)
