This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 10.30

चातुर्द्वीपं च ते राज्यं देमि क्षिप्रम् उदीरय ।
एतां सुभाषितां वाचां मा विलम्ब ब्रवीहि मे ति ॥ ३० ॥

cāturdvīpaṃ ca te rājyaṃ demi kṣipram udīraya |
etāṃ subhāṣitāṃ vācāṃ mā vilamba bravīhi me ti || 30 ||

“I give you the sovereignty of the four continents. Quickly speak; do not delay but tell me this wise saying.” (30)
