This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 10.29

राजानं नागभुजं नाम तद्दासो इदम् अब्रवीत् ।
चातुर्द्वीपेन राज्येन शक्यं प्राप्तुं सुभाषितं ॥ २९ ॥

rājānaṃ nāgabhujaṃ nāma taddāso idam abravīt |
cāturdvīpena rājyena śakyaṃ prāptuṃ subhāṣitaṃ || 29 ||

His slave said to a king named Nagabhuja, “In return for the sovereignty of the four continents you may have a wise saying.” (29)
