This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 9.20

न संहरन्ति वीरियं धर्मे लोकैर् अभिद्रुता ।
एवम् अध्याशयास् तेषां दृढा सन्ति महर्षिणाम् इति ॥ २० ॥

na saṃharanti vīriyaṃ dharme lokair abhidrutā |
evam adhyāśayās teṣāṃ dṛḍhā santi maharṣiṇām iti || 20 ||

Though persecuted hy the worlds, they do not abate their zeal for dharma. Thus are the dispositions of these great seers steadfast. (20)
