This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 7.77

यथा चापि संवर्तन्ते सत्त्वसाराः तथा वदे ।
यथैवाध्याशया तेषां भवन्ति तां उदाहरे ॥ ७७ ॥

yathā cāpi saṃvartante sattvasārāḥ tathā vade |
yathaivādhyāśayā teṣāṃ bhavanti tāṃ udāhare || 77 ||

“And how do these choice beings advance? This tell me. And say what their dispositions are. (77)
