by Émile Senart | 1882 | 56,574 words

This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 6.11

एते च कोलितशिरी अन्ये च दशबला अपरिमाणा ।
सर्वे अनित्यताय समिता लोकप्रद्योता ॥ ११ ॥

ete ca kolitaśirī anye ca daśabalā aparimāṇā |
sarve anityatāya samitā lokapradyotā || 11 ||

There were these and countless other Dashabalas, noble Kolita, all lights of the world who had overcome impermanence. (11)
