khalu punaḥ samayena rājño śreṇiyasya bimbisārasya brāhmaṇo purohito rājācāryo upariprāsādavaragato rātryā pratyūṣakālasamaye dvātriṃśanmahāpuruṣalakṣaṇānāṃ vācāvistareṇa svādhyāyaṃ karoti // aśroṣīt khalu rājā śreṇiyo biṃbisāro brāhmaṇasya purohitasya rājācāryasya upariprāsādavaragatasya rātryā pratyūṣakālasamaye dvātriṃśanmahāpuruṣalakṣaṇānāṃ vācāvistareṇa svādhyāyaṃ karontasya śrutvā ca punar asya bhagavato smṛti udapāsi // aho punar me vijite buddho bhagavāṃ utpadye taṃ cāhaṃ bhagavantaṃ paśyeyaṃ dṛṣṭvā ca punar me pravṛtte prasīdeya prasannacitto ca naṃ paryupāseyaṃ so ca māṃ bhagavāṃ dharmaṃ deśeya tasya cāhaṃ dharmaṃ śrutvā ājāneyaṃ //
___atha khalu rājā śreṇyo biṃbisāro tasyaiva rātryātyayena anyataraṃ puruṣam āmaṃtrayati // ehi tvaṃ puruṣa kṣipram eva bhadrāṇi yānāni yojāpehi yuktāni ca me prativedehi // sādhu mahārāja tti sa puruṣo rājño śreṇiyasya biṃbisārasya pratiśrutvā kṣipram eva bhadrāṇi yānāni yojayati yuktāni ca taṃ prativedayati / yuktāni te mahārāja bhadrāṇi yānāni yasyedāniṃ kālaṃ manyase // atha khalu rājā śreṇyo bimbisāro anyataraṃ bhadraṃ yānam abhiruhitvā mahatā rājarddhyā mahatā rājānubhāvena mahato janakāyasya hakkārahikkārabherīmṛdaṃgapaṇavaśaṃkhasanninādena rājagṛhāto nagarāto niryātvā yenānyatarā udyānabhūmī prāyāsi // atha khalu rājā śreṇyo bimbisāro yāvatikā yānasya bhūmi tāvatakaṃ yānena yātvā yānāto pratyoruhya padasā yeva tāṃ udyānabhūmiṃ anucaṃkramanto anuvicaranto niṣīde suvarṇamaye paryaṃke prācīnābhimukho stryāgāraparivṛto amātyapāriṣadyapuraskṛto // atha khalu rājño
