te me pratibalā prathamaṃ dharmaṃ deśitaṃ ājānituṃ na ca me viheṭhayensuḥ yam idaṃ dharmaśravaṇāya / pūrvam eva duṣkaraṃ carantasya anubaṃdhensuḥ / te ca vārāṇasyāṃ viharanti ṛṣipatane mṛgadāve // yaṃ nūnāhaṃ vārāṇasīṃ gatvā vārāṇasyām ṛṣipatane mṛgadāve paṃcānāṃ bhadravargiyānāṃ prathamaṃ dharmaṃ deśayeyaṃ //
___atha khalu saṃbahulā maheśākhyā śuddhāvāsakāyikā devā yena bhagavāns tenopasaṃkramitvā bhagavataḥ pādau śirasā vanditvā ekānte asthānsuḥ / ekāntasthitās te bhagavantam etad uvāca // yaṃ bhagavato antevāsināṃ abhijñātaṃ parijñātaṃ pratibalāś ca punar vayaṃ bhagavato vividhāni vicitrāṇi ṛddhiprātihāryāṇi kartuṃ / yena bhagavān mārgeṇa bodhito vārāṇasyāṃ gamiṣyati ṛṣipatanaṃ mṛgadāvaṃ anuttaraṃ dharmacakraṃ pravartayituṃ tato vayaṃ bhagavato yāvac ca bodhi yāvac ca vārāṇasī mārgaṃ pratijāgariṣyāmaḥ samaṃ asamaviṣamaṃ pāṇitalajātaṃ vitatavitānaṃ citradūṣyaparikṣiptaṃ osaktapaṭṭadāmakalāpaṃ siktasammṛṣṭaṃ dhūpitadhūpanaṃ muktapuṣpāvakīrṇaṃ suvarṇavālikāsaṃstṛtaṃ divyamuktācūrṇasaṃstṛtaṃ divyasphaṭikacūrṇasaṃstṛtaṃ divyamusāragalvacūrṇasaṃstṛtaṃ divyalohitikācūrṇasaṃstṛtaṃ / tatra ca vayaṃ bhagavaṃ mārge yāvac ca bodhir yāvac ca vārāṇasī divyā tālapaṃktiyo abhinirminiṣyāmaḥ acchā samā saikatā sukhopanītā citrāṇi darśanīyāni saptānāṃ varṇānāṃ suvarṇasya rūpyasya muktāyā vaiḍūryasya sphaṭikasya musāgalvasya lohitakāyā / tatra ca vayaṃ bhagavaṃ mārge vāmadakṣiṇato divyāyo nadīyo
