rājño brahmadattasya etad abhūṣi // avidhijñā iyaṃ ṛṣikumārī rājño rājārhāṇāṃ vastrāṇāṃ naiva ṛṣisya viśeṣaṃ abhijānāti na rājānasya naiva ajinānāṃ viśeṣaṃ jānāti nāpi rājārhāṇāṃ vastrāṇāṃ viśeṣaṃ jānāti nāpi mama turaṃgasya / eṣā ca ṛṣikumārī rājakanyā mamaiṣā bhāryā anurūpā bhaveyā na śakyā mayā māṇḍavyena ṛṣiṇā anabhyanujñātā pāṇināpi praṣṭuṃ kuto punar ito āśramāto kampillaṃ nagaraṃ nayituṃ / māṇḍavyo ṛṣi mahābhāgo śāpena me saparivāraṃ bhasmīkareya / yaṃ nūnāhaṃ padumāvatīm ṛṣikumārīm upāyena pralobhayeyaṃ // paurāṇānāṃ ca bhikṣavo rājñāṃ mṛgavyena gacchantānāṃ madhusarpisaṃyuktāni saktūni rājārhāṇi ca modakāni ca ukkārikāni ca yamalakaṃ pūretvā aśvapṛṣṭhe pallāṇasya pṛṣṭhato bandhyanti rājā aśvena eko advitīyo vaneṣu hṛto samāno bubhukṣāya mareya // tena khalu punar bhikṣavo samayena rājño bramadattasya madhusarpisaṃyuktāni saktūni modakāni ca ukkārikāni ca yamalakaṃ pūretvā aśvapṛṣṭhe pṛṣṭhato pallāṇavadhreṇa baddham abhūṣi // atha khalu bhikṣavaḥ rājā brahmadatto yamalakāto modakaṃ ukkaḍḍhetvā padumāvatīye adāsi // hanta bhadre imāni asmākaṃ phalāni // dāni āha // jāne katamāni śobhanatarāṇi phalāni yuṣmākaṃ asmākaṃ // dāni taṃ modakaṃ paribhuṃjitvā āha // bhagavaṃ śobhanāni imāni yuṣmākaṃ phalāni mṛṣṭāni rasavantāni asmākaṃ punaḥ phalāni kaṭukaṣāyāṇi // rājā āha // edṛśāni asmākaṃ āśrame vṛkṣeṣu phalāni yadīcchasi īdṛśāni paribhuṃjituṃ tato taṃ mama āśramapadaṃ gacchāhi // evam ukte bhikṣavaḥ padumāvatī ṛṣikumārī rājānaṃ brahmadattam etad uvāca //
