alam iti ca tāṃ vedatāṃ pratikṣipitvā anusukhaṃ audarikam āhāraṃ abhyavahṛto tato paṃcakā bhadravargīyā nirvidya pratyavakrāntāḥ // samādhito vibhraṣṭo śramaṇo gautamo śaithiliko bāhulikaṃ puna audarikam āhāram abhyavahṛtaṃ //
___māro pi pāpīyāṃ ṣaḍvarṣāṇi bodhisatvasya duṣkaracaryāṃ carantasya pṛṣṭhato pṛṣṭhato samanubaddho avatārārthī avatāraṃ gaveṣī // so pi bodhisatvasya ṣaḍvarṣāṇi anubaddhanto alabhanto vatāraṃ alabhanto ālambaṇaṃ alabhanto abhiniveśanaṃ nirvidya pratyavakrānto //
yan tatra tatra māro na prasahe māruto va himavantaṃ /
taṃ mṛtyurājapraṇudaṃ pūjayati sadevako loko //
bhikṣū bhagavantam āhaṃsuḥ // mokṣābhiprāyeṇa bhagavatā duṣkaraṃ cīrṇaṃ // bhagavān āha // na bhikṣavo etarhi eva maye mokṣābhiprāyeṇa duṣkaraṃ cīrṇaṃ // bhikṣū āhansuḥ // anyadā api bhagavaṃ // bhagavān āha // anyadāpi bhikṣavo //
___bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo atītam adhvānaṃ nagare vārāṇasī kāśijanapade śākuntiko śakunā nigṛhṇīya araṇyāyataneṣu jālehi ca pāśehi ca paṃjarehi ca uparudhya nivāpena pānīyena ca poṣiya vaḍḍavaḍḍāni kṛtvā iṣṭena arghena vikrīṇati // tahiṃ aparo śakuntako gṛhṇīyāna paṃjare uparuddho // so dāni śakuntako paṇḍitajātiko paśyati ye te śakuntakā pūrve prakṣiptā paṃjare nivāpapuṣṭā vaḍḍavaḍḍā te janena kriṇiya tataḥ paṃjarehi kaḍḍhiyanti // so paśyati sakuntako paṇḍitajātiko / na eṣa asmākaṃ śākuntako hitakāmatāye nivāpaṃ pānīyaṃ deti arthahetoḥ eṣa asmākaṃ nivāpaṃ udakaṃ deti yadā vaḍḍavaḍḍā bhavensuḥ tato iṣṭena arghena vikrīyensuḥ /
