so dāni nāgarājā tahiṃ caturmahāpathe upavāsaṃ samādatto ahituṇḍakena dṛṣṭo / tena so ahituṇḍikena campako nāgarājo tataś caturmahāpathāto gṛhya sarpakaraṇḍake prakṣipto āsati / nāpi tasya ahituṇḍikasya kupyati nāntarahīyanto mahābalo mahātejo nāgarājā icchati sajanapadāṃ vārāṇasīṃ bhasmīkareyā // tatra sarpakaraṇḍe taṃ vrajam anupālento āsati // tenāpi nāgarājñā parivārasya nimittāni ācikṣitāni yadi mama ettha caturmahāpathe upavāsaṃ samādattasya kocid viheṭheya tahiṃ nāgabhavane nimittāni bhaviṣyanti / yadi iha nāgabhavane etāni vanaspatīni saṃmilāyensuḥ etāni ca utpalapadumakumudapuṇḍarīkasaugandhikāni tato jānetha baddho so nāgarājā / yadi etāni vanaspatīni sarvāṇi sarvaśuṣkapatrā bhavensuḥ etāni ca puṣkariṇīni nirodakāni bhavensuḥ tataḥ jānetha hato nāgarājā ti // tena dāni campakena nāgarājñā ahituṇḍakena sarpakaraṇḍake baddhena tahiṃ nāgabhavane etāni nimittāni prādurbhavanti // te dāni nāgā ca nāgakanyā ca tahiṃ nāgabhavane tāni nimittāni dṛṣṭvā sarve utkaṇṭhitā baddho nāgārājā / kiṃ tato // ekameko samartho taṃ nāgarājaṃ tataḥ ahituṇḍikasya hastāto mokṣayituṃ na ca taṃ nāgarājaṃ bhokṣayanti // yat kāraṇaṃ pūrve va nāgarājena parivārasya saṃdiṣṭaṃ / yadi mama upavāsasamaṃgisya kocid hareya bandheya na yuṣmābhis tasya kenacid apriyo viprayo kartavyo / yat kāraṇaṃ eṣa mama vratottamaḥ //
