dharmapālo nāma putro abhuṣi / tadāpi eṣo mayā jñāto etarahiṃ pi mayā cirapranaṣṭā śākiyamuṣṭiḥ jñātā //

bhikṣū bhagavantaṃ āhansuḥ // dūraṃ bhagavato iṣu kṣiptaṃ // bahgavān āha // na bhikṣavaḥ etarahiṃ eva maye dūraṃ iṣu kṣiptaṃ // anyadāpi bhagavan* // bhagavān āha // anyadāpi hi bhikṣavo //
___bhūtapūrvaṃ bhikṣavo atītam adhvānaṃ nagare vārāṇasī kāśijanapade rājā rājyaṃ kārayati mahābalo mahākośo mahāvāhano kṛtapuṇyo maheśākho / tasya dāni vistīrṇaṃ rājyaṃ yāvat takṣaśilāṃ samājñāpayati // so kanīyasaṃ bhrātaraṃ rājye pratiṣṭhāpayitvā vārāṇasyā takṣaśilāyāṃ āgato // so dāni takṣaśilāyāṃ vasati / anyena ca rājñā vārāṇaseyo caturaṅgena balakāyena veṣṭito // tasya tena bhrātareṇa vārāṇasīto takṣaśilāṃ dūto preṣito / āgacchāhi imo haṃ paracakreṇa uparuddho // tena rājñā takṣaśilāyāṃ sthitena dūtānāṃ sakāśāto śrutvā bhūrjasmiṃ tasya rājño yena vārāṇaseyo veṭhito nāmaṃ likhitvā taṃ bhūrjaṃ kāṇḍe pariveṭhitvā sūtreṇa sunaddhaṃ kṛtvā vārāṇasīṃ kṣiptaṃ // so kāṇḍo tasya rājño pādamūle sthitvā pādaphalakaṃ khaṇḍakhaṇḍīkṛtaṃ / so rājā tasya puruṣasya ca vismito / aho utsāho ca muṣṭisaṃbandho ca yatra nāma vārāṇasyāṃ sthitena kāṇḍaṃ kṣiptaṃ / imaṃ evaṃ dūram āgato mama pādamūle phalake nipatito itthaṃ tena ahaṃ na hato // tena rājñā tataḥ kāṇḍāto muṃcitvā taṃ bhūrjaṃ vācitaṃ tatra ca bhūrje evaṃ likhitaṃ //
