The Lotus Sutra (Saddharma-pundarika) is an important Mahayana Buddhist scripture classified as one of the nine Dharmas. the Lotus Sutra deals with a wide range of important Buddhist teachings in twenty-seven chapters including the nature of the Buddhas and the inherent potentiality of becoming Buddha within all beings. This editions only contains the Sanskrit metrical text and the corresponding English translation. Alternative titles: Saddharma-puṇḍarīka-sūtra (सद्धर्म-पुण्डरीक-सूत्र).

कालेन वा चिन्तयमानु पण्डितः प्रविश्य लेनं तथ घट्टयित्वा ।
विपश्य धर्मं इमु सर्व योनिशो उत्थाय देशेत अलीनचित्तः ॥ २४ ॥

kālena vā cintayamānu paṇḍitaḥ praviśya lenaṃ tatha ghaṭṭayitvā |
vipaśya dharmaṃ imu sarva yoniśo utthāya deśeta alīnacittaḥ || 24 ||

Let the sage first, for some time, coerce his thoughts, exercise meditation with complete absorption, and correctly perform all that is required for attaining spiritual insight, and then, after rising (from his pious meditation), preach with unquailing mind.
