The Lotus Sutra (Saddharma-pundarika) is an important Mahayana Buddhist scripture classified as one of the nine Dharmas. the Lotus Sutra deals with a wide range of important Buddhist teachings in twenty-seven chapters including the nature of the Buddhas and the inherent potentiality of becoming Buddha within all beings. This editions only contains the Sanskrit metrical text and the corresponding English translation. Alternative titles: Saddharma-puṇḍarīka-sūtra (सद्धर्म-पुण्डरीक-सूत्र).

प्रत्येकबुद्धान अनास्रवाणां तीक्ष्णेन्द्रियाणान्तिमदेहधारिणाम् ।
दिशो दशः सर्व भवेयुः पूर्णा यथा नडानां वनवेणुनां वा ॥ १२ ॥

pratyekabuddhāna anāsravāṇāṃ tīkṣṇendriyāṇāntimadehadhāriṇām |
diśo daśaḥ sarva bhaveyuḥ pūrṇā yathā naḍānāṃ vanaveṇunāṃ vā || 12 ||

If the ten points of space were filled with Pratyekabuddhas, free from faults, gifted with acute faculties, and standing in the last stage of their existence, as numerous as reeds and bamboos in Ganges, with undivided attention and subtle wit, even then that (knowledge) would be beyond their ken.
