[307.026]. tena khalu samayenotpalāvatyāṃ rājadhānyāṃ rūpāvatī nāma strī babhūva abhirūpā darśanīyā prāsādikā śubhavarṇapuṣkalanayā samanvāgatā/
[307.027]. atha rūpāvatī strī svānniveśanānniṣkramya utpalāvatyāṃ rājadhānyāṃ jaṅghāvihāramanukrāmati/

[307.028]. tasmin khalu samaye tasminnapavarake strī prasūtā, dārakaṃ prajātā abhirūpaṃ prāsādikaṃ śubhavarṇapuṣkalatayā samanvāgatam/
[307.030]. taṃ strī kṣutkṣāmaparītā raikṣacittā dārakaṃ gṛhṇāti, icchati ca svāni putramāṃsāni bhikṣayitum/
[307.031]. tāṃ dṛṣṭvā rūpāvatī strī etadavovat--kimidaṃ bhagini kartukāmāsi? āha--jighatsitāsmi bhagini/

[308.001]. rūpāvatī āha--tenabhagini niveśane kiṃcitsaṃvidyate'nnaṃ pānaṃ bhojanaṃ svādanīyaṃ ? durlabhaḥ putraśabdo lokasya/
[308.002]. na me bhagini kiṃcitsaṃvidyate niveśane annaṃ pānaṃ khādyaṃ bhojanaṃ svādanīyaṃ lehyaṃ /

[308.004]. rūpāvatyāha--tena hi bhagini muhūrtamāgamaya, yāvadahaṃ niveśanaṃ gatvā tavārthāya bhojanamānayiṣyāmi/
[308.005]. āha--yatkhalu bhagini jānīyāh--kukṣirme lupyati, pṛthivī me sphuṭati, hṛdayaṃ me dhūmāyati, diśo me na pratibhānti/

[308.017]. saṃtarpya ca tāṃ striyametadavocat--yatkhalu bhagini jānīyāh--ayaṃ dārako mayā svakena māṃsarudhireṇa krītaḥ/
[308.018]. sāhaṃ tava nikṣepamanuprayacchāmi-- bhūyo dārakaṃ bhakṣayiṣyasi, yāvadahaṃ niveśanaṃ gatvā tavārthāya bhojanamānayiṣyāmi/

[308.020]. atha rūpāvatī strī rudhireṇoddharatā yena svaṃ niveśanaṃ tenopasaṃkrāntā/
[308.021]. adrākṣīdrūpāvatyāḥ striyāḥ svāmī rūpāvatīm, strīṃ rudhireṇoddharatā pradharatā dūrata eva agacchantīm/
[308.022]. dṛṣṭvā ca punā rūpāvatīmetadavocat--kenedamevamrūpaṃ rūpāvati viprakāraṃ kṛtam? sautāṃ prakṛtiṃ vistareṇārocayati sma/
[308.023]. ārocayitvā etadavocat--prajñapaya āryaputra tasyā striyā bhaktam/

[308.030]. atha śakro devendra udārabrāhmaṇarūpamātmānamabhinirmāya sauvarṇadaṇḍakamaṇḍalumādāya suvarṇadaṇḍena maṇivālavyajanena vījyamānastadyathā balavān puruṣaḥ saṃmiñjitaṃ bāhuṃ prasārayet prasāritaṃ saṃmiñjayet, evameva śakro devānāmindro deveṣu trāyastriṃśeṣvantarhita utpalāvatyām [309] rājadhānyāṃ pratyasthāt/

[309.001]. atha śakro devānāmindra utpalāvatyāṃ rājadhānyāṃ bhaikṣyamanvāhiṇḍan yana rūpāvatyāḥ striyā niveśanaṃ tenopasaṃkramya dvāri sthitvā bhaikṣyamutkrośate/
[309.002]. tato rūpāvatī strī bhaikṣamādāya yena sa brāhmaṇaveṣadharaḥ śakraḥ, tenopasaṃkramya bhaikṣamupanāmayate/
[309.003]. atha sa śakro devānāmindro rūpāvatīṃ striyametadvocat--satyaṃ te rūpāvari dārakasyārthāyobhau stanau parityaktau? āha--ārya brāhmaṇa satyam/
[309.005]. sa tāmāh--evaṃ te rūpāvatī ubhau stanau parityajāmīti parityajantyāḥ parityajya abhūccittasya vipratisārah? āha--na me ubhau stanau parityajantyā abhūccittasya vipratisāraḥ/
[309.007]. śakra aha--atra kaḥ śraddhāsyati? rūpāvatyāha--tena hi brāhmaṇa satyavacanaṃ kariṣyāmi/
[309.008]. yena satyena brahman satyavacanenobhau stanau parityajāmīti parityajantyāḥ parityajya nābhūccittasyānyathātvam, nābhūccittasya vipratisāraḥ, api ca brahman yena satyena mayā dārakasyārthāyobhau stanau parityaktau, na rājyārthaṃ na bhogārthaṃ na śakrārthaṃ na rājñāṃ cakravartināṃ viṣayārthaṃ nānyatrāhamanuttarāṃ samyaksambodhimabhisambudhya adāntān damayeyam, amuktān mocayeyam, anāśvastānāśvāsayeyam, aparinirvṛtān parinirvāpayeyam, tena satyena satyavacanena mama strīndriyamantardhāya puruṣendriyaṃ prādurbhavet/

[309.014]. atha khalu śakro devendrastuṣṭa udagra āttamanāḥ pramuditaḥ prītisaumanasyajātas tata eva ṛddhyā vaihāyasamabhyudgamyodānamudānayati--rūpāvatyāḥ strīndriyamantarhitam, puruṣendriyaṃ prādurbhūtam/

[309.018]. athāpareṇa samayenopalāvatyāṃ rājadhānyāṃ nagaryāṃ rājā aputraḥ kālagataḥ/
[309.018]. tatra piṇḍatajātīyānāṃ mahāmātrāṇāmetadabhūt--yannu vayamutpalāvatyāṃ rāhadhānyāṃ rāhānaṃ sthāpayema/
[309.020]. teṣāmetadabhūt--nānyatra rūpāvatakumārātkṛtapuṇyātkṛtakuśalāt/
[309.020]. te rūpāvataṃ kumāramutpalāvatyāṃ rājadhānyāṃ rājānaṃ sthāpayanti/

[309.023]. pūrṇānāmaṣṭānāṃ navānāṃ māsānāmatyayāddārakaṃ janayati abhirūpaṃ darśanīyaṃ prāsādikaṃ śubhavarṇapuṣkalatayā samanvāgatam/
[309.024]. tasya jātamātrasya tādṛśī kāyātprabhā muktā, yayā prabhayā candrasya prabhā niṣprabhīkṛtā/
[309.025]. athānyatarā strī yena sa śreṣṭhī gṛhapatistenopasaṃkrāntā/
[309.026]. upasaṃkramya śreṣṭhinaṃ gṛhapatimetadavocat--yatkhalu gṛhapate jānīyāh--te dārako jāto'bhirūpo darśanīyaḥ prāsādikaḥ śubhayā varṇapuṣkalatayā samanvāgataḥ/
[309.027]. tasya jātamātrasya tādṛśī kāyātprabhā pramuktā, yayā candrasya prabhā niṣprabhīkṛtā/
[309.028]. atha sa śreṣṭhī gṛhapatistuṣṭa udagra āttamanāḥ prītasaumanasyajātas tasyā eva rātryā atyayādye jānanti brahmaṇā lakṣaṇyā naibhittikā vaipañcikā bhūmyantarikṣamantrakuśalā nakṣatraśukragrahacaritajñāḥ, sa tān saṃnipātya dārakamupadarśayati--yatkhalu brāhmaṇā jānīdhvam--ayamagramahiṣyā dārako jāto'bhirūpo darśanīyaḥ prasādikāḥ śubhayā varṇapuṣkalatayā samanvāgataḥ/

[311.002]. yadā brahmaprabho māṇavakaḥ ṣoḍaśavarṣo jātyā saṃvṛttaḥ, tadainaṃ mātāpitarau āhatuh--brahmaprabha, tavārthāya niveśanaṃ kariṣyāvaḥ/
[311.003]. sa āha--amba tāta, na tāvanmama niveśanena prayojanam/
[311.004]. tau āhatuh--kiṃ punastvaṃ brahmaprabha kariṣyasi? sa āha--icchāmyahaṃ sattvānāmarthāya tapastaptuṃ duṣkaraṃ caritum/

[311.020]. upasaṃkramya dvau brahmarṣī etadavocat--yatkhalu brāhmaṇau jānītām-- vyāghrī prasūtā kṣutkṣāmaparītā svakau potakau bhakṣayitumicchati/
[311.021]. ekaṃ potakaṃ gṛhītvā dvitīyaṃ muñcati na bhakṣayati/
[311.022]. tasyāḥ ka utsahate bhaktaṃ dātum? tau āhatuh--āvāṃ tasyā bhaktaṃ dāsyāvaḥ/
[311.022]. atha tau brahmarṣī yena vyāghrī tenopasaṃkrāntau/
[311.023]. apaśyatsā vyāghrī brahmarṣī dūrata evāgacchantau/
[311.024]. dṛṣṭvā ca kṣutkṣāmaparītā abhidravitukāmā/
[311.024]. tayoretadabhūt--ka utsahate tiryagyonigarasyārthāya jīvitaṃ parityaktumiti? tau tata eva ṛddhyā vaihāyasamabhinirgatau/

[311.029]. atha sa brahmaprabho māṇavako yena vyāghrī tenopasaṃkrāntaḥ/
[311.030]. tasyā vyāghryāḥ purata ātmānamavasṛjati sma/

[311.031]. taṃ na śaktābhidrotu(gdhu)m/
[311.031]. atha brahmaprabhasya māṇavasyaitadabhavat--iyaṃ mama vyāghrī sāvijñānakaṃ kāyaṃ na bhakṣayati/

[311.032]. tatastīkṣṇaṃ ca veṇupeśīṃ tīkṣṇāṃ gṛhītvā idamevaṃ rūpaṃ satyavacanamakarot--samanvāharantu me ye'smin vanaṣaṇḍe'dhyuṣitā [312] udārā devā nāgā yakṣā asurā garuḍāḥ kinnarā mahoragāḥ, te'pi sarve samanvāharantu/

[312.002]. ayamahaṃ tyāgaṃ kariṣyāmi, atityāgaṃ tyāgātityāgaṃ svayaṃ galaparityāgam/
[312.002]. api tu yenāhaṃ satyena satyavacanena parityajāmi, na rājyārthaṃ na bhogārthaṃ na śakrāthaṃ na rājacakravartiviṣayārtham, anyatra kathamahamanuttarāṃ samyaksambodhidhimabhisambudhya adāntān damayeyam, atirṇāṃs tārayeyam, amuktān mocayeyam, anāśvastānāśvāsayeyam, aparinirvṛtān parinirvāpayeyam, tena satyena satyavacanena me parityāgo niṣphalo bhūditi kṛtvā svayameva galaṃ chittvā tasyā vyāghryā purata upanikṣipati/
[312.008]. vyāghrīnakhāvalivilāsavilupyamānā vakṣaḥsthalī kṣaṇamalakṣyata vīkṣayārā(?)/

[312.016]. sahaparityakte khalu bhikṣavo brahmaprabheṇa māṇavena svake gale, ayaṃ rtisāhasramahāsāhasro lokadhātuḥ kampati saṃkampati saṃprakampati, calati saṃcalati, vedhati saṃvedhati saṃpravedhati, pūrvā digunnamati paścimā avanamati, paścimā digunnamati pūrvā digunnamati, dakṣiṇā digunnamati uttarā digavanamati, uttarā digunnamati dakṣiṇā digavanamati, madhyamunnamati, anto'vanamati, anta unnamati, madhyamavanamati, sūryacandramasau na tapato na bhāsato na virājataḥ//

[312.023]. syādbhikṣavo yuṣmākaṃ kāṅkṣā vimatirvā--anyaḥ sa tena kālena tena samayenotpalāvate nagare rājadhānyāṃ rūpāvatī strī babhūva/

[312.025]. syādbhikṣavo yuṣmākaṃ kāṅkṣā vimatirvā--anyā tena kālena tena samayenāpavarake strī prasūtā/

[313.016]. tadā me bhikṣavaścatvāriṃśatkalpasamprasthito maitreyo bodhisattva ekena galaparityāgena paścānmukhīkṛtaḥ/
[313.017]. tadanena bhikṣavaḥ paryāyeṇa veditavyam/
[313.017]. evaṃ sacet sarve sattvā jānīyuh--dānasya phalaṃ dānasaṃvibhāgasya ca vipākam yathā ahaṃ jānābhi dānasya phalaṃ dānasaṃvibhāgasya ca vipākam, yo'sau caramaḥ kavalaḥ paścima ālopaḥ, tamāpi nādattvā nāsaṃvibhajyāpareṣvātmanā nopabhuñjīran, nāpyutpannaṃ mātsaryaṃ cittaṃ paryādāya tiṣṭhet/
[313.020]. yasmāttarhi bhikṣavaḥ sattvā na jānanti dānasya phalaṃ dānasaṃvibhāgasya ca vipākam, tasmātsattvā yo'sau caramaḥ kavalaḥ paścima ālopaḥ, tamapyadattvā asaṃvibhajya apareṣāmātmanā paribhuñjate, utpannaścaiṣāṃ mātsaryamalaścittaṃ paryādāya tiṣṭhati//
[313.023]. punākṛtaṃ na paśyati no śubhāśubhaṃ na sevitam/
[313.024]. na paśyati paṇḍite jane na nāśametyāryagaṇe//3//
[313.025]. śubhāśubhaṃ kṛtaṃ kṛtajñeṣu na jātu naśyati/
[313.026]. sukṛtaṃ śobhanaṃ karma duṣkṛtaṃ cāpyaśobhanam/
[313.027]. ubhayasya vipāko'sti hyavaśyaṃ dāsyate phalam//4//

[313.028]. āttamanaso bhikṣavo bhikṣuṇya upāsakā upāsikā devanāgayakṣāsuragaruḍakinnaramahoragāḥ sarvāvatī ca pariṣadbhagavato bhāṣitamabhyanandan//
