Summary: This study on the Dipavamsa consists of two parts: The first part researches pre-Buddhist Sri-Lanka while the second part presents a narrative research on the stages of development of Buddhism in Sri-Lanka.

The Dipavamsa is the base material of the Vamsa literatures of Ceylon (Shri-Lanka) writtin the Pali language.
